Privacy Policy

This policy explains how MyEnergySavings uses personal information when you use our website, request an energy report or subscribe to updates. It also explains how your information may be used when we introduce energy comparison services, and the choices you have.

Who we are

MyEnergySavings is operated by Ahmed Alhamadani, which is responsible for how your personal information is used. You can contact us about this policy or your information through our contact page.

What information we collect

Energy Check answers currently stay in your browser and are not automatically added to a marketing profile. When you request an email report or sign up for updates, we collect the email address you provide and details of your request. If you contact us, we also receive the information you include in your message. We record your marketing choices so we can respect your preferences.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide the report or update you requested, respond to enquiries and manage your communication preferences. Requesting a report does not automatically subscribe you to promotional emails. Please only provide information needed for your request, and do not send payment details or account passwords through our contact form.

Future energy comparison services and offers

If you separately opt in to marketing emails, we may use your email address to tell you when our comparison service launches and send information about energy tariffs and offers that could help you find a better deal. Where you explicitly agree to us saving and using energy details for personalised offers, we may also use those details to make our messages more relevant. Information that stays only in your browser is not available to us for this purpose. We may ask you to confirm or update your details before comparing tariffs, and we cannot guarantee that a cheaper deal will be available.

Your consent and marketing choices

Marketing is optional. You can use Energy Check or request a report without agreeing to receive offers. If you request only a launch notification, we will not treat that as permission for ongoing promotional emails. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe option in our emails or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of earlier use of your information.

Our reasons for using personal information

We rely on your consent for optional marketing emails and any optional use of saved energy details to personalise those messages. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, fulfilling requested report deliveries and administering the website, where those interests do not override your rights. We may also retain information where necessary to meet a legal obligation.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. Service providers involved in operating the website or delivering requested emails may process information on our behalf for those purposes. Joining our mailing list does not give energy suppliers permission to contact you directly. Before introducing a comparison service that shares your details with suppliers or comparison partners, we will explain who receives the information, why it is needed and the applicable legal basis.

How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Report-delivery information is kept for delivery and any related support. Launch-notification details are removed when that request has been fulfilled, unless you separately subscribed to ongoing updates. Marketing details are retained while your consent remains valid and the subscription remains relevant, subject to review. After you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal record of your opt-out to prevent further marketing.

Protecting your information

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss and misuse. Access should be limited to people and service providers who need it for the purposes described in this policy. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access your personal information, correct inaccurate details, delete information or restrict how it is used. You may also have rights to object to processing and receive certain information in a portable format. You can object to direct marketing at any time. Contact us through our contact page to make a request. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our services or use of personal information changes, including before launching energy comparison features. Where required, we will explain significant changes directly and obtain fresh consent. Publishing a new policy does not automatically extend the permission you previously gave us.
